Viewing characteristic and fantastic films, animations, mangas and literature (aka ‘sub-cultural media’) ever made in the distinctive Hokuriku region of Japan as our essential references, the workshop’s aim is to derive the women’s images, lives, dreams and role they acted in from these characters to find visions for the future, ideas or suggestions for the urban planning and the community design. as well as seeking for the well being, by discussing and depicting.
The venue is Toide, Takaoka, a quiet and calm town in the middle of the Tonami Plainin Toyama Prefecture. Come and enjoy a creative moment in a relaxed atmosphere. Please refer to the Hokuriku Works reference list and view one (or as many) works of your choice before participating.
*The phrase ’ For the Sake of Anyone Whom We Might Not Have Seen Yet’ is taken from a dialogue of Satoko Kizaki’s Akutagawa Literature Prize awarded novel, The Phoenix Tree (1985) which is located near the venue in the city of Takaoka.
